Delightful Delaunay's

Last week, we had a look at a famous French artist by the name of Robert Delaunay. We had a close look at some of Delaunay's artwork and discovered that he loved to create abstract artwork by using geometric shapes and bright colours. We also learnt that Abstract Art has no subject. It is just lines, shapes, and colors. The Abstract Art movement is called Abstract Expressionism because, although the art has no subject, it is still trying to convey some kind of emotion. Here are some of Robert Delaunay's art pieces:

We decided to have a go at creating our own Delaunay inspired art pieces. We started by carefully filling our canvas with many different sized circles. We then ruled 'abstract' lines through our work and used oil pastel to add colour. Let us know what you think!

Lots of love,

Tremendously talented T4!!
